Spartan racing takes place all over the world and is known for their punishing obstacles, lots of mud, and challenging terrain. My personal quest is to qualify and compete in the Spartan Race World Championships in Lake Tahoe in October. The next question? How do you prepare for such events? Really cool! Thus why it’s growing so quickly. Something about the event hits people just right: the challenge, the excitement, the comradery with other athletes, and the general energy these events instill in you. The odd thing? They can’t wait to do it again. I often hear “…that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done’” by first-time participants. The physical demand of running while simultaneously conquering strength-blasting obstacles catches people by surprise. The first thing people realize when they compete in their first OCR is that these races are no joke. The range of athletes OCR draws covers the full spectrum of participants: distance runners, weightlifters, hikers, bikers, and fitness enthusiasts looking for a new challenge. ![]() Not as strong as you’d like to be? Don’t worry, if you can run you’ll be more than competitive with others in the field. There are strength testing obstacles along the way to give you a competitive advantage. Not much of a runner? That’s quite alright. ![]() What’s the appeal? It requires the best of both ‘fitness’ worlds: strength andendurance. Obstacle course racing (OCR) is taking the world by storm and the sports popularity is catching on like wildfire.

That night at 11.46pm, Choudary sent a text message to Rahman, which read: “Dear brother did you reach home yet safe and sound?” He had been the subject of several failed prosecutions before being jailed last year and was awaiting trial for inviting support for Isis at the time Rahman and Aziz travelled to meet him.Ĭhoudary was supposed to be on strict bail conditions, including being banned from contacting a list of known extremists and confined to his home in Ilford, but is believed to have welcomed the pair on 8 May last year. Then in May last year Rahman started sending messages to a contact known as AC – believed to be Choudary – and arranging to meet him with Aziz.Ĭhoudary, the founder of banned Islamist group al-Muhajiroun, has been linked to numerous terrorists including London Bridge attack ringleader Khuram Butt, suspected Isis executioner Siddhartha Dhar, Lee Rigby’s killer Michael Adebolajo and 7/7 bomber Mohammad Sidique Khan. The court was presented evidence from WhatsApp messages between the defendants where they appeared wary of directly discussing friends who had travelled to join Isis in December 2015 because they might “get arrested and go to jail”. The specific types of pipe with compression caps he learned how to use on the course would later be found in the device the gang planned to use in their terror attack. ![]() He also enrolled on a gas-fitting course at South and City College. Hussain, still evidently radicalised, argued with students in Birmingham city centre after claiming that the Remembrance Day poppy represented killings by the British Government. In prison, they met Rahman, who had previously been jailed for possessing an al-Qaeda magazine containing instructions on how to make a pipe bomb similar to the one found in Ali’s car years later.īy the end of 2015 the trio had been released, with Ali and Hussain returning to their families in Birmingham and living next door to each other, while keeping in touch with Rahman. ![]() ![]() The court heard that Aziz was keen not to be “left behind” and was only brought into the plot days before they were arrested in August last year, but the other three defendants had known each other for at least five years.Īli and Hussain were initially arrested in 2011 after attempting to fly out to a terrorist training camp in Pakistan, abandoning their plans but later pleading guilty to the preparation of terrorist acts. Ali, 28, Hussain, 25, Rahman, 32, and Aziz, 37, were convicted of terror offences at the Old Bailey and were in custody awaiting sentence, but questions remain over the lengthy journey to their conviction. Keep anything you need to stay ice cold organized with three shelves and a plastic bin. On the freezer side, there is 9 cubic feet of room for frozen meats, pizzas, ice cream, and bags of fruit and veggies. Two gallon-size door bins are helpful for providing space for milk, soda, or large jars. Two of the glass shelves are adjustable, but we wish there was one more shelf for greater storage options. Open the door to the 16.6 cubic foot refrigerator, and you’ll find a layout with three glass shelves and two crisper drawers. Aside from the price point, other reasons to choose this model include its factory-installed dual ice maker, spill-resistant shelves, and helpful alerts if the unit becomes too warm, power is lost, or the door is left ajar. In reality, this stainless steel fridge is an affordable option to make the most of your appliance budget. The Frigidaire FRSS2623A is a sleek, modern side-by-side refrigerator that only looks expensive. Total Capacity: 25.3 cubic feet | Dimensions: 69.5 x 35.75 x 35.25 inches | Installation Depth: Standard | Ice/Water Dispenser: Ice and water | Ice Maker Type: Single | Available Finishes: Black, stainless steel, slate, white | Garage Friendly: No When combined with its reputation for reliability and an affordable price point, it makes a great choice. But with all of these features to keep your frozen and fresh foods organized and accessible, it’s easy to see why this is one of the best side-by-side refrigerators. It’s not "garage ready" with the necessary components to handle widely fluctuating temperatures. Now it’s worth noting that this refrigerator is designed to be your kitchen companion-not a fixture in your garage. As you’d expect, the water dispenser is outfitted with a filtration system to remove impurities from drinking water. This model includes one to ensure that you have ice on demand in cubed or crushed form. A must-have for many people is a factory-installed ice maker. A pull-out wire basket at the bottom of the freezer stores bags of frozen goods, such as berries or vegetables. ![]() A small shelf above the ice maker is dubbed the "Sweet Spot Shelf" and is ideally sized for ice cream, popsicles, or even ice packs. Open the freezer side of the shiny, stainless steel GE GSS25GSHSS, and you’ll find plenty of vertical storage for cold foods. Gallon-size jugs of milk or juice handily fit into two large-capacity door bins, while two smaller bins keep salad dressings and other condiments contained. For easier organization and access, the top three glass shelves are adjustable and have a sliding mechanism. On the fridge side, you’ll appreciate four glass shelves that span the full width of the fridge to make the most of the space available. ![]() ![]() The 25.3 cubic feet of space inside this fridge is split as follows: 16.07 cubic feet for refrigerating fresh goods and 9.25 cubic feet for frozen foods. Aesthetics aside, it offers plenty of capacity for fresh and frozen goods with helpful organizational features, plus a through-the-door ice and water dispenser. The GSS25G series comes in a wide variety of finishes to match your kitchen decor, including stainless steel, on-trend slate, and high-gloss black and white. Our top recommendation for a side-by-side refrigerator is this reliable GE model. Lacks advanced ice or water dispenser options ![]()
It was to this very theatre he returned in 1961 when he sought to create his own surreal theatre and museum space. In 1956, Dali gave a talk at the Park in honour of the architect. He also loved Gaudi’s La Pedrera building and cites it in French publication in 1930 and in 1952 was photographed there for a Spanish publication. "I think this is the first critical piece of getting that started," she said. Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs said that she thinks Skyplex will help to bring more tourists to the area. Its Sky Tower observation deck is 400 feet tall. Like Skyplex, SeaWorld falls under county jurisdiction, but Orange County planning administrator John Smogor told commissioners that the park probably would have gotten a larger height allowance simply by asking for it. The Orlando city code restricts Universal's roller coasters to a 200-foot height limit because the park is bordered by a residential neighbourhood. The denial came even though Skyplex got a positive recommendation from county support staff and Federal Aviation Administration approval. Last month, the Orange County's advisory planning and zoning commission denied Skyplex's request that its nearly 12 acres be rezoned. In addition, it must follow a plan it worked out with officials regarding its impact on traffic and easing any potential light pollution. Since it is yet unclear exactly how high the roller coaster will eventually be, it agreed that it won't exceed 600 feet. Skyplex did agree to some conditions as part of its zoning approval. "It has to fit into the community, and height is the issue," McReynolds said. Universal vice-president of external affairs John McReynolds told commissioners that Universal's opposition was not about fears of competition, but did still have concerns about Skyplex's impact on the area. Opposition led by neighbouring Universal Orlando argued the coaster, which would have a 450-foot drop, would be too tall and adversely change the culture of the tourist corridor. The support included residents of some of International Drive's closest residential neighbourhoods, as well as business owners who said Skyplex would help revitalize the area. Several dozen people voiced opinions about the project during Tuesday's standing room-only public hearing. The current tallest roller coaster is the 450-foot "Kingda Ka" at New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure. The Skyplex complex, scheduled to open in 2018, would include two other rides, a 350-room hotel, restaurants and stores. ![]() Hopefully they've sort of seen the public sentiment is for Skyplex and for the rebirth of I-Drive, for prosperity and the renaissance of this year." "We want to build the world's tallest rollercoaster as our anchor and, of course, Universal didn't want us to have such a competitive ride. International Drive, located about 20 miles outside of downtown Orlando, is an 11-mile strip of shops, restaurants and hotels situated between Universal and SeaWorld Orlando. It had been decaying and shabby for the last 20 years." "Central Florida really needed a renaissance of North I-Drive. "We couldn't be happier with the board's decision," Wallack said. The unanimous vote means that developer Joshua Wallack and his family can move to the planning and construction phase on their project to build the 570-foot "Skyscraper" coaster and surrounding entertainment complex on Orlando's International Drive. Orange County's board of commissioners granted zoning approval Tuesday night for the $500 million Skyplex Orlando project. Orlando's hope of having the world's tallest roller coaster is one step closer to becoming reality. ![]() Manage Print Subscription / Tax Receipt. ![]() There are two main factions available such as Human Alliance (Gerald, Kendal, Walden, Sir Duane, etc.) and Dark Legion (Lucretia, Cirith, Rithrin, and more).
